However, while webmasters can work out their own traffic through their own site using their statistics platform the only way to check on competitors is to use services like Alexa (more). This is not the most accurate way of measuring a websites traffic , but it is all that is available. They measure the traffic based on who has the Alexa toolbar installed, so the statistics are biased toward those that have the toolbar installed. It is also easy to manipulate them.
