Sports medicine problems in golf are relatively common. At the highest level those that participate in golf  are highly trained athlete and they are prone to a number of overuse injuries. At the other end of the scale golf is used for fitness and social reasons so the participants in golf are not as conditioned and the 18 holes of golf is a big effort. Common problems in golf include back problems from the golf swing. Foot and leg problems are also common and some need golf orthotics. The key to preventing these problems is to get fit to play golf and do not just play golf to get fit.
