Starting Running

There is no doubt that running is one of the better ways to increase fitness and most sports medicine professionals are advising sedentary people to start running. The problem is how to start running? Motivation is one issue, but what do you do to start running? Advice needs to be taken. A good pair of running shoes is the first place to start. Following getting that right, there needs to be a slow and gradual increase in what it is done. Short, then long walks need to be done first. Later some short runs or jogs should be included in the walk, gradually increasing the amount of jogging, then running should be added. Listen to the body and respond accordingly or you will end up seeing a sports medicine professional with an injury.
